Law has always been my passion, driven by a belief in fairness, justice, and the power of effective advocacy. I began my legal career in India, practising as a corporate lawyer with a focus on banking and finance, while also gaining experience in family law and arbitration. My work involved advising clients on complex transactions, navigating compliance matters, and maintaining strong, transparent client relationships. These diverse experiences taught me the importance of clarity, precision, and trust—values that continue to guide my work as I progress towards admission as a solicitor in Australia.
After several years in India, I moved to Australia to further my professional development and requalify as a solicitor. I completed Juris Doctor at La Trobe University, where I developed a solid understanding of the Australian legal system and an appreciation for its practical, problem-solving approach to legal learning.
Following my studies, I completed my Practical Legal Training (PLT) at the Leo Cussen Centre for Law, under the mentorship of Dominique Vadala. The PLT program provided a safe and supportive environment to transition from academic learning to professional practice, allowing me to develop the skills and confidence required to serve clients effectively within the Australian legal framework.
Having experienced both the Indian and Australian legal systems, I have come to appreciate their shared values as well as their differences. In both jurisdictions, the lawyer–client relationship is grounded in trust, diligence, and professionalism. However, I have observed that the Australian legal profession operates within a more structured and regulated framework, with a strong emphasis on accountability and ethical practice—principles I deeply respect and aspire to uphold as I work towards admission as a solicitor in Australia.
My journey from practising law in India to requalifying in Australia has been both enriching and transformative. It has broadened my legal perspective, strengthened my professional integrity, and deepened my commitment to providing thoughtful, client-focused legal support at every stage of the legal process.
I am fortunate to be working at Pearsons Lawyers, a specialist Family Law firm where the team of solicitors work with collaboration achieving excellence in knowledge and service.
