Does an intervention order cover my children?

An Intervention Order only covers children if the children are listed as Affected Family Members on the Intervention Order (whether it is an Interim Intervention Order or a Final Intervention Order).

To ensure that the children are covered on the Intervention Order, when making an application for an Intervention Order at your closest Magistrates Court, or if taken out by the Police, please ensure that you speak to the Registry staff at the Court and include the children in the application form listing the children as Affected Family Members.

In the alternative, if the police are applying for an Intervention Order on your behalf or on behalf of your children they will determine whether the children are listed as Affected Family Members on the Intervention Order.
